Prof. Uchenna Casmir Anyanwu was born during the Nigeria- Biafra war. He attended Community Primary School Nkalagu, St. Patrick’s College Emene- Enugu and the University of Nigeria, where he got his Bachelor of Arts and Masters degree.
Prof. Uchenna Casmir Anyanwu enrolled in the same University for the PhD programme in 1990 and bagged the Doctorate degree in Political History in 1993. Because he showed great academic promise, he was immediately retained as a lecturer in the Department of History and International Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
In 2006, Prof. Uchenna Casmir Anyanwu rose to the rank of Professor and has been a Professor in that Department for fifteen years.
Among Prof. Uchenna Casmir Anyanwu publications are, Treading the Rough and Tumble Field: Oral Tradition and History in Northeastern Igboland (2005), Igbo Society in Transition: The Ezza Example (2006), The Life and Times of Elizabeth, (2018), A Worthy High Priest of the Inner Temple: Essays in Honour of Professor Onwuka Njoku and over fifty outputs in book chapters and articles in learned journals. Professor Anyanwu was a Fulbright Scholar,at Boston College, Massachusetts, USA.
Prof. Uchenna Casmir Anyanwu likes combat sports, and he holds a Black Belt in Karate. He is happily married with children.
